Steam is a digital platform for buying, playing, and managing PC games and is developed by Valve Corporations. It started to distribute popular game titles in late 2005. As of 2025, it is the largest digital distribution platform for PC games with over 35k games. But, the clunky navigation and a complex interface overshadows what matters most for gamers: enjoying the games.



As an avid gamer and Steam user, I was interested in tackling some of the most obvious issues, but throughout my research process, it was clear this would become a much bigger project than I had thought. 



Because of this, I am currently redesigning Steam with a specific target of creating a more straightforward and joyful game shopping experience.

Feelings about the UI was pretty clear.

A quick search shows that a cry for an interface improvement was a big request from the community since it heavily impacted gamers’ experience.
